Breathe Together in France

May 13 - May 20

| $2495 - $2995

Event Navigation

Find yourself immersed on a yoga retreat in France that soaks you in the very best this beautiful countryside has to offer. The beauty of the Dordogne needs no embellishment; our yoga retreats however, are the perfect accompaniment.  Sit at the pool and soak up the lakeside view or hop on a bike and ride into the village to explore.

Spend your days wandering through a village with buildings dating to the 12th century, a Sunday market in a medieval town and sample wines during an evening with a local sommelier that perfectly blend the old and the new. Enjoy walking through the vineyards and sightseeing through the verdant countryside.

The Dordogne region of France is known for it’s wine and culture ranging from the caves at Lascaux to the medieval castles and towns that still dot the river’s edge. Our yoga retreats bring together the best of this restful countryside, the fun and French-ness of local wine tasting, adventure on the Dordogne river and the region’s history all wrapped up in a lovely yoga retreat bow.

Each room in the chateau is unique.  But while all rooms have their own charm, don’t expect to spend too much time indoors!  Encased in a region of rolling hills and country roads, days can take the form of a stroll down the lane, a bike ride through the vines or our included explorations.  And  don’t forget a good book for some chilled out pool time.

FAQs

Do I need a passport/visa?
US citizens will need a passport to visit France, but no visa is required at this time.  Nationals of all other countries should check travel requirements well in advance of their retreat.

What airport should I fly into?
Well, you have a few choices here…  The easiest location to come into, either by train or by plane, is Bergerac.  The Bergerac airport (ECG) is about a 20min drive from the chateau.  The Bergerac train station is about 30min away.  There are other train stations and airports (Libourne and Bordeaux) but they are 40min to an hour and a half away from the chateau.

Do we need to bring our own yoga gear?
Nope!  The chateau is stocked with mats, blocks, straps and blankets.  You only need to bring your own stuff if you’re particularly attached to personal gear.

Will we have access to WiFi?
Yes, there is wifi, but it is best for basic emails.

Is there swimming?
The chateau has a beautiful pool that is open from spring until the fall season.

Can my dietary restrictions/needs be accommodated?
Yes.  The food is locally sourced farm-to-table goodness.  The chef can accommodate as long as we have at least 3 weeks notice.

Do I need to book any of the optional activities ahead of time?
You can wander through some additional castles to explore or gallop off through a vineyard, there is more than enough time to book these excursions when you arrive.  There is so much to absorb that it’s best not to overbook yourself before arrival… see what you feel like when you reach the good life and don’t forget to book in some chill time.

The only exception to this would be if you want to visit the caves of Lascaux or Font de Gaum.  For those you’ll need to book a tour in advance as tickets go very quickly, especially in the summer season.

What is the electrical currency/outlet in France?
France is on plug type “E” and 230v.  Anyone coming from a region with a different plug or voltage should pack their adaptor and/or converter.

What is the currency situation in France?
France is on the Euro and while we suggest you get cash in Euros when you arrive, credit cards are also accepted.

What do I need to bring?
Although we don’t recommend you book excursions ahead of time, you’ll want to think ahead a bit when it comes to packing.  Treks and horseback riding will require close-toed shoes (ie, not flips or sandals) and a few pairs of long pants won’t go amiss.  Your essentials will be your yoga clothes and bathing suit with the rest depending on your appetite for adventure; quick dry clothes for adventure activities will work best.
