This weekend intensive will provide tools for teachers of body-mind disciplines whose interests include therapeutic and rehabilitation focused classes. Regardless of whether the foundation is rooted in Yoga, Qigong (Chi Kung) or Taiji (Tai Chi) this workshop will expand the offerings and tailor participant’s skills to include an aging population.
More than 30% of the US population is over 50, and so the demand for support and accessible classes is growing.
You will learn about the Chinese Medicine perspective on an aging body, common challenges and their solutions and easy adaptations that can make exercises more accessible. You will also learn Qigong exercises to increase vitality and address common problems encountered as the body matures.
This weekend workshop will deepen your practice and teaching whether you are interested in leading classes targeted to seniors, would like to broaden your offering, or would like to have some great techniques up your sleeve to make adjustments and include props for more senior members of a general class.
The intensive will include planning a class and observing the delivery and adaptations needed in real-time during our Qigong for Healthy Aging: A Practice, a 2-hour class for the public, held from 2-4 PM on Sunday.
