Mysore is a style of self-practice particular to the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga method. In a Mysore room, the students move at their own pace through a predetermined series of postures. The teacher instructs each student individually through verbal cues and hands-on adjustments but generally does not speak to the whole class as a group. Each student will gradually learn the sequence pose by pose. In the beginning, depending on the student’s ability, the practice may be as short as 30 minutes. Slowly, the practice becomes longer as postures are added.
Breathe Together’s Mysore room is open Monday through Thursday, 6-8:45AM. Students come and go within this timeframe; it is not necessary to arrive for a 6AM start or stay the entire 2 hours and 45 minutes.
On Fridays, 7-8:30AM, we practice the traditional full led Primary Series counted in Sanskrit. On Sundays, 7:45-9:30AM, we practice a led Primary Series that is more suited for beginners and open to the public. Please come on time for led class.
New students are always welcome! Please check the online schedule for any schedule changes or class cancellations. Note that we take Saturdays and Moon Days (see below) as days of rest.
