I often say that ‘yoga found me’ in 2009. I was in the first year of sobriety from alcohol addiction and yoga was an important part of my recovery. A Denver, Colorado native, my entry point to yoga was at CorePower, where it was originally established.
I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology. After college, I was working in a plaintiff’s personal injury law firm, considering law school. However, as I learned later on, some of my best laid plans didn’t always work out as I had imagined. In 2013, my husband and I moved to the Los Gatos, 3 miles from BTY. I subsequently enrolled in Jennifer Prugh’s JOY of Yoga 200 Hr. and 300 Hr. teacher training and began working at the studio, first in the Mandala Tea House and eventually as the Studio Manager. In 2015, I returned to Colorado, where I now work remotely as the Business Manager. My gratitude to stay connected to the studio is beyond measure. I believe in our mission to offer yoga for everyone, to lead with compassion, and to savor our brief lives together.
Today I practice at the Yoga Workshop in Boulder, Colorado. I am thankful to Erika Abrahamian who introduced me to the Ashtanga Vinyasa method. And I am continually inspired by the current teacher’s in my life; especially Jennifer Prugh, Ty Landrum, Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor, and Mojdeh Zahiraleslamzadeh. During my quarterly visits, you will find me practicing in the Breathe Together Mysore Room and connecting with the community over an almond milk latte made at the Mandala Tea House. Please say hello!
