Karina Lambert

Karina Lambert was born and raised in Argentina. In 2002, she moved to Los Angeles, where she became more consistent about her yoga practice even though it started in her late teenage years. She became a mother in 2009, which changed her whole perspective in life, kindness, and compassion. She’s been teaching folk dances for over 25 years and yoga for over nine. She’s a lover of yoga philosophy, loving-kindness meditations, singing in the shower, dancing while cooking, and is particularly crazy about her cat Soly. She enjoys walks along the ocean with her partner and short trips to explore and unwind.

What modality do you primarily practice?

I primarily choose practices that are creative, alignment-based, and conducive to yoking awareness to breath and movement.

How did you find your practice?

When I was about 15 years old, I was working weekly as a kids’ counselor at a Jewish organization. Over time, I started having serious issues with losing my voice. I did several treatments in breath reeducation until someone suggested yoga. I started attending an Iyengar Yoga class and fell in love with the peace I’d encountered every time I was participating. It helped me center myself, slow down, and regain strength in my vocal cords that were affected by voice misuse. More than that, I started sleeping better and having less PMS-related pains and stress.

3-5 words to describe your teaching style.

Focused yet lighthearted; short, seated meditations are a constant; informed on we are effecting change through movement; filled with passion and gratitude.
