Йога на български (YOGA IN BULGARIAN)

ARTICLES

Nelly’s yoga journey began in 2005, while dealing with health challenges with one of her children. The search for answers during that difficult time brought her to study and become a passionate believer in a holistic approach to health. She makes the practice a joyful and nurturing bundle of breath work, mindful movements, and meditation, while encouraging her students to find their own creative approach to it. She teaches yoga as a practice of self-discovery and self-acceptance, and guides her students – adults and kids – to always step on the yoga mat with the open, pure, and unburdened curiosity of a child.

Nelly considers creativity to be an essential, innate quality in every person, and she loves to express it through writing, wholistic teaching, cooking, gardening, and in her most important work: parenting. You may visit her blog site Sheltering Within.

Nelly holds a master’s degree in journalism from Sofia University and a master’s degree in economics from University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria.

What do you do when you aren’t practicing?

I reserve time every day for writing. I’ve always loved playing with words, and I consider having a daily reflection to be an important part of staying true to oneself. I also follow my creative inspirations through cooking, which for me is another artistic form of self-expression. I love to read, hike, work in the garden, and play with my sweet cats…but I feel that my most important work is being a mom.

3-5 words to describe your teaching style.

Playful, creative, mindful, joyful, nurturing.

One thing you wish all your students – that everyone, including non-yogis – knew?

I am a strong believer that yoga is not so much about self-improvement as it is mostly about self-discovery and self-acceptance. Every day is different, and every moment is full of potential – embrace them, and yourself, with curiosity and mindfulness.
