Healing and Trauma Releasing Yoga Fusion with Live Music

Restorative Harp & Guitar 2-min

There’s something particularly healing about experiencing live music. It brings mental and physical wellness to people who experience stress, anxiety, or even trauma. Vibration healing through music has been used for thousands of years to move energy and invoke peace, serenity, and space.

This workshop will provide live music with the specific intention to promote relaxation, release, and healing.

Therapeutic movement techniques with yoga and Qigong flows will open up energetic pathways to allow stressors to exit the body, regulate the nervous system and bring the systems of the body into rhythm.

The harmonic mechanics of music – known as modes – are implicit in stringed instruments – especially the harp and guitar. In ancient times, modes were considered to have healing properties. Plato believed that soldiers should only listen to certain modes which elicit strong powerful vibes, but not others, as they feel more dreamlike and innocent – not qualities wanted in warfare. Aristotle writes that the essential differences between the modes create a different effect on all those who listen, “Some of them make men sad and grave…enfeeble the mind… produce a moderate or settled temper” or “enthusiasm.”

Today, musicians still use these modes to help influence people’s moods.
