Foundations of Tibetan/Buddhist Yoga

jamesbae
Tibetan Yoga is comprised of meditation and somatic practices aimed at both health and wellbeing, as well as spiritual cultivation. Within Tibetan Yoga, we find external or outer yogas, as well as subtle body practices, referred to as “inner yogas.” As many of these methods evolved out of a millenia long discourse, between India and various Himalayan regions, Dr. Bae prefers to use the term “Buddhist Yoga.” James will introduce the history and theory of Tibetan and Buddhist Yoga methods that have come down through notable traditions and lineages, some of which include significant medical and therapeutic aspects. In this workshop participants will be introduced to foundational meditation, breath practices and movement-based disciplines from Tibetan Yoga, including these healing yogas – often referred to as Lujong. These Lujong methods are not readily available.
