Since 2009, Jennifer has been passionate about raising money to support exiled Tibetan refugees and the education of their children through the Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation. Through gracious support by the people in the Bay Area, we have raised funds for a computer lab in Sikhm in northeastern India, a kitchen at a school in Clement Town, India, and sponsored the education of dozens of children, as well as provided medical support to Tibetan elders who came over the Himalayas with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
In drought-stricken regions like Samburu, access to clean water changes everything. The Samburu Project focuses specifically on the impact water access has on the lives of women and girls, and facilitating programs that amplify improvements in health, education, gender equality, and economic growth.
Access to clean water helps increase sanitation. Eliminating a long walk to far-off wells for water gives women the gift of time. Time for income generation, self investment, family care, and ultimately a sustainable path out of poverty.
TreeSisters funds tropical reforestation projects that are ethical, are community-led, expand natural forest cover, and aim to avoid further deforestation.
Through donations to our weekly Community Classes, we planted 20,000 trees.
