The peppermint hot chocolate is a cozy, winter staple that provides the classic warmth of a hot chocolate along with a seasonal kick from the peppermint. Peppermint is known for alleviating stress and anxiety while boosting the immune system. If you can’t make it in, try making the drink yourself:
Ingredients
Chocolate Sauce
- ½ cup cacao powder
- ½ cup coconut palm sugar
- ½ cup water
Hot Chocolate
- 8 oz milk of your choice
- 2 oz chocolate sauce
- ⅛ tsp peppermint extract
Directions
Chocolate Sauce
- Combine all ingredients in a blender.
- Blend until incorporated, and store in a jar or squeeze bottle.
Hot Chocolate
- Combine all ingredients in a milk frothing pitcher.
- Steam until hot chocolate has reached desired temperature, and enjoy!
Notes
- For an unsweetened version, add 2 tbsp cacao powder instead of chocolate sauce.
- If you do not have a milk frother, combine all ingredients in a small saucepan, and heat gently on a stovetop.
- Add a shot of espresso to turn your peppermint hot chocolate in a peppermint mocha!
