Ikebana, the traditional Japanese flower arrangement, has attracted flower lovers all over the world. There are many teachers and books available outside of Japan. If you have always wanted to do Ikebana but are unsure of where and how to start, this workshop is an ideal introduction to the world of Ikebana.

In Japan, a student will learn ikebana in one of the many ‘schools’ such as Ikenobo, Ohara, and Sogetsu. Students spend many years acquiring complicated techniques and stylings specific to the school. This workshop is not associated with any of such schools.

We will learn a brief background of traditional ikebana and basic handling of flowers and styling which is adapted to make an arrangement with readily available materials with simple techniques. Each student will take home the arrangement he or she creates
