Overview

The JOY of Yoga | Qigong 200-Hour training course is the result of decades of study and teaching all over the world. Within less than a year, you can learn the basic mechanics, natural flow, and intuitive body-emotion-spirit integration of qigong in a simple and effective format. Utilizing both western and traditional medical models to understand health and well-being, this course provides you with a practical skill set, making multiple pathways to healing and vitality always available. Qigong differs from other contemporary practices such as yoga, meditation, or taiji in that the primary focus of qigong is on training the movement and transformation of qi energy (the term qigong literally translates to “energy skill”). Whether you are largely new to self-care, or have years of experience in various forms of healing practice, this course will help you weave things together in a way that is both personal and informed by millenia old self-healing principles.

The training will be run by Gideon Enz and Jim Patton, both of whom have extensive background in the healing arts. Gideon has trained from a young age, holds multiple degrees in Asian studies, and assisted in the writing of over 3,000 pages of modern qigong textbooks. Gideon is also the sole lineage holder of the Wuji method from Master Duan Zhiliang, from which he developed the school and practice of Daoist Yoga. Jim Patton has over a decade of experience as a qigong instructor, body-worker, and yoga teacher. Gideon and Jim bring their individual and unique areas of expertise to this program; joining science, philosophy, and practice seamlessly to form a well-rounded and holistic program.

This program is part of an integrated series of 100-hour programs that teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of Asian somatic, meditative, and healing practices. The first 100 hours focuses on learning the methods and mechanics of Chinese healing movements. In the second 100 hours, we will zoom in on the processes associated with feeling, moving and transforming qi. Graduates of both the Foundations of Daoist Yoga and the Foundations of Qigong courses will receive a JOY of Yoga | Qigong certificate.
