Kat Walser (E-RYT 500) fell in love with the practice of yoga after walking into her first yoga class at the age of sixteen. Since then, she has been fortunate to study with renowned yoga and meditation teachers such as Shiva Rea, Sally Kempton, Maty Ezraty, Annie Carpenter, Hala Khouri, Seane Corn, Mark Stephens, and many others. Her yoga home in the early to mid-aughts was at the Center for Sacred Movement in Venice, California. Upon moving to the border of Switzerland and Italy, she brought the “California-style” vinyasa of Shiva Rea through the lineage of Krishnamacharya that she loved practicing in Southern California with her as a teacher, eventually opening her own studio (aptly named California Yoga) there. A forever student of yoga and life, Kat continues to deepen her study of yoga philosophy, pranayama, meditation, and various healing modalities, which she loves to integrate into her classes, workshops, and trainings for a holistic wellness experience. Kat’s experience as a teacher includes teaching meditation, pranayama, yoga nidra, yoga teacher trainings, yoga for kids, prenatal yoga, vinyasa, Stand-Up Paddle (SUP) yoga, yoga for athletes, yin, restorative, and all forms of aerial yoga. She is trained with Unnata Aerial Yoga at the advanced level, and continues to explore the therapeutic power of the yoga hammock as a prop. A mother of two, Kat now lives with her family at the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains and enjoys being in nature with her kids, traveling, writing, and engaging in various artistic pursuits.
