Mapping the inner life

Whenever we’re going somewhere new, it is helpful to have a map. We’ve likely heard the expression, “the map is not the way.” Our path is our own, but it can be useful to pay attention to the ways in which people from a variety of cultural traditions throughout the ages have described the inner journey as we navigate our own. There are patterns in the human journey. When we understand them, we have more freedom and access to our innate creativity.

This course provides valuable tools to work with the common obstacles inherent in being a human being. How do we work skillfully with emotions? How do we listen? How do we act upon our own “still small voice within?” How do we skillfully shift deeply embedded patterns?

When you sign up for this course, you will gain lifetime access to the entire recorded course, including all of the meditation, exercises, practices, and lectures which you can access anywhere, any time.

BY COMPLETING THIS COURSE

You will develop greater self awareness, cultivating your ability to observe and understand your thoughts and emotions.) You will have greater access to your ability to create your life by building your ability to identify and transform internal and external obstacles. You will be able to reduce cycling thoughts, strengthen focus, and become more self-aware.

As a teacher, you will be able to provide skillful guidance in meditation, creativity and embodied awareness, working effectively with a variety of people.

WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?

This course is open to anyone.

JOY students must first apply to the 100-Hour JOY MAP Certification or the JOY 300-Hour Certification to receive credit.

It is eligible for 15 elective hours toward the JOY of Yoga 300 Hour Teacher Training. It is also eligible for 15 CEUs (continuing education units); hours will be broken down on the certificate of completion, available after the last day of training – please contact joy@breathetogetheryoga.com.

LEARNING PATH

Resting your attention in one place supports the ability to see behind repetitive thoughts. You will learn several meditations that you can use any time to support deepening your awareness.

You will learn about the way emotion shows up in the body and you’ll learn to identify the variety of emotions and internal experience that can support greater insight and awareness.

When we live in our heads, we lose the energy inherent in a felt sense of presence. You’ll utilize practices that integrate you hands and brains to expand your sensing capacity for non-judgmental present moment awareness, putting patterned reactions on pause.

Through understanding the ancient interpretations of the potential of energy in the body, you’ll learn ways of unpacking and having a direct experience with whatever emotions you may be working with.

Being a skillful human requires being able to acknowledge and integrate our own aspects of our shadow, the more difficult traits to include. By being able to hold opposites, you become more skillful and discerning in how you move through life.
