Chronic stress in the muscles can cause pain in many unexpected ways. Trigger points and referred pain are areas in the body where we experience pain, even though the problem area is elsewhere. Ida Rolf used to say, “Where you think it is, it ain’t,” which is the perfect way to express that, sometimes, we need to look elsewhere in our body to relieve pain in specific areas. In fact, there are many known trigger points in the body, many patterns of referred pain that are known and catalogued, and we can use this knowledge to find relief.
This workshop looks at various forms of myofascial release, with an emphasis on ball rolling, as a way to address common patterns of discomfort in the body. We’ll look at the concept of tensegrity, myofascial lines, and learn techniques for releasing adhesion. We will work with a few of the most common trigger points, but also take a brief look at the many tools and methods for myofascial release beyond the scope of what we can cover in an afternoon.
We’re sorry, but we don’t offer refunds or account credit on workshops or trainings.
This workshop will be conducted in-studio.
