Have you ever wondered if you’re doing a yoga pose correctly? Or wish you could transition better from one pose to another? When an instructor says you should feel a sensation in [insert body part here], but you don’t, ever wonder why that is? Or why does it seem like I have to work so hard to hold pose x, when the person next to me seems to barely break a sweat?
I’ve recently been asked similar questions along these lines, like “How can I move better from Cobra to Down Dog?”, or “How can I do Chaturangas better? Or at all?” or “Should I be able to get my heels down in a squat pose like Malasana?” Or perhaps you have a physical issue like shoulder pain that is limiting your ability to perform certain poses like Down Dog?
If any of the above questions resonate with you, or you’re just curious to spend more time on certain poses, break down their key components, and explore how to get more out of them, then this workshop is ideal for you! We’ll be spending the afternoon deep diving on an individual level in a group setting so we can learn from each other’s journey.
We’ll cover the following topics:
Some of these techniques may include exploring joint alignment, isometrics, visualizations, breath-work, concentric/eccentric stretching, and more. We’ll also discuss the use of blocks, a yoga strap, and other yoga aids to deepen our practice. This is not so much about striving for perfect alignment, but more about whether you’re getting any benefit out of a particular pose or sequence, and if not, explore what can be done to get the most out of your practice.
This workshop is ideal for those who are relatively new to yoga, casual practitioners, as well as seasoned yogis who desire to take their practice to the next level.
