with Jennifer Prugh and Karma Tensum
We have waited several years to create this journey to South India. The trip itself has been created in the spirit of a yoga pilgrimage because of the experiences we’ll be having.
South India consists of the five southern Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, as well as the union territories of Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Andaman, and Nicobar. The 12-day journey begins in Chennai and ends in Cochin – east to west across the two major regions of South India.
The Tamil Nadu region offers a great architectural and cultural wealth and is a region where Hindu fervor is omnipresent. Kerala, on the other hand, boasts a plethora of diverse nature; between jungle, countryside, mountain, tea plantation, lakes and rivers. Not to mention beautiful beaches that punctuate the beginning and end of your trip.
The journey from Chennai starts with visiting the holy places where the Hindu religion developed its identity. You will travel to Kanchipuram-Mahabalipuram, where you can visit famous temples such as Kailashnath and Ekambareswarar, and become familiar with world-famous UNESCO World Heritage sites. Last but not least, you will visit Tanjore, Madurai.
Travel around the temples of South India. Enjoy visiting tea plantations and spice gardens. Cruise on the famous backwaters of Kerala on a traditional houseboat. You will be marked by its multicultural, warm and smiling people.

What makes this tour special:
CLEMENT TOWN ADD-ON
After the trip, Jennifer and Karma will continue on to Clement Town from March 9th – 11th. There they will visit historic monasteries, as well as the school and hostel at Kyitsel-Ling where we’ll spend time with the children and elders that we sponsor. This time of year the entire community recites one billion “om mani padme hums,” which takes about three weeks to complete. We will be able to participate in this extremely special event. If you are interested in joining Jennifer and Karma, please see details below. Space is limited.
