Foundations of Daoist Yoga

The 100-hour Foundations of Daoist Yoga gives you a solid introduction to the mechanics of Chinese healing movement systems. Here you will learn the physical and energetic language behind the traditions of qigong, taiji (tai chi), and gongfu (kung-fu).These practices include opening the joints, using and adapting common stances & postures, animal themed movements, and a series of supporting meditative practices, This is part of an integrated series of 100hr programs that teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of Asian somatic, meditative, and healing practices.

Those who complete the 100-hour Foundations of Daoist Yoga module will also receive credit towards the following programs: JOY of Yoga 300-Hour Training & JOY of Yoga 1000-Hour Training.

Required Reading

  • Chinese Healing Exercises by Livia Kohn
  • Daode Jing (Tao Te Ching, Stephen Mitchell version recommended)

  • Chi Kung – The Way of Healing by Lam Kam Chuen.

  • Monday night sessions (part of the complete 200 hours): June 3, 10, 17 & 24 | 6 – 8pm (online)

Location

This workshop will be conducted in-studio and online via Zoom.
