The unique flexibility of our upper body allows us immense freedom of movement, until it doesn’t. Luckily, regaining and maintaining youthful elasticity and pain-free movement is closer than you think. In this workshop will soften stress and soothe away aches and pains with tried and true methods. The exercises you will learn are rooted in the Chinese tradition of self-care that has been helping scholars, monks and nobility destress and rebalance for thousands of years.
In the first part, we will focus on simple alternating movements that get right into the bunched up areas in the upper body. Practicing these flowing exercises in conjunction with the breath helps dissolve knots and soften lines of tension throughout the connections of the upper spine and arms. After this, we will go through two basic self-massage routines focusing on the arms, neck, and face.
