Marina Poole

Marina is grateful to have been introduced to yoga and meditation by her father as a child, but fell in love with the practice as a teenager when she experienced how it could take her out of her thoughts completely and into a state of flow.

Upcoming Classes

Identifying as a dancer at the time, Marina often felt held back by the way she thought her creative expression “should” look or sound. Yoga soon became a safe refuge and a place to repair her relationship with her self-image and to practice letting go of strict control over her body.

Nowadays Marina’s practice is about opening the heart and living in fullest harmony with all of life. She is completely dedicated to deepening her understanding of the healing power of yoga – not only for individuals, but also as a tool to show up as better citizens, to heal the relationship with the planet, and to build a more peaceful world.

Marina completed her 200-hour yoga teacher with Jennifer Prugh and Noell Clark, JOY of Yoga, at Breathe Together Yoga and is currently pursuing her 500-hour training. She has also trained with Off the Mat, Into the World faculty, focusing on bridging yoga and activism. Marina is continually influenced and inspired by the work of Mark Tanaka, Jessica Collette, Shiva Rea, and Mina Khanaman, as well as her countless dance and music teachers throughout life.

Her classes can be physically challenging but are always grounding and centered around cultivating open-hearted awareness. Marina believes that first and foremost the body knows best, and she likes to encourage exploration and spontaneous movement guided by breath. All of Marina’s classes bring in an element of dance and play, as her mission is to create safe and sacred spaces for others to honor their unique expression of life. When Marina isn’t practicing yoga, she enjoys spending time with her beloved partner, family, and friends, painting, making music and DJing, and going on adventures in new places.
