This weekend intensive looks at how we can create a safe and supportive environment for an aerial class. The main two pieces of this are understanding the rigging, specifically the system we use at Breathe Together; and finding ways to help students feel safe in inversions. Discussion, observation, role playing, and practice teaching will help students get a feeling for safely helping people to go upside down. In addition to understanding the mechanics of inversions, we’ll consider ways to make inversions inviting to people who are nervous or even scared, and think about how to help them find a sense of calm in these poses.
