Gift of Presence

buddha-blue-square

When we’re truly present, we’re able to tap into the potential of a given moment. Being able to live our lives in the present moment, whatever it may bring, allows for greater creativity, a deeper ability to compassionately and effectively relate to others, and greater sense of fulfillment. It is an essential key to well-being.

Being present to whatever arises in our lives requires the practice of cultivating awareness. The practice of present moment awareness is at the heart of the practice of yoga. In this course, we practice presence through self-inquiry, a variety of meditations, and through sharing the experience with others.

This course supports you in:

  • deepening your daily meditation practice.

  • skillfully moving from reaction to response.

  • reducing cycling thoughts.

  • strengthening concentration and focus.

  • enhancing honest and effective communication.

  • accessing creativity.

  • developing a profound sense of connection.

This is a hybrid course facilitated by Jennifer Prugh and Jennifer Walthers. We will meet live (in studio and/or on Zoom) to begin the course and to close the course. We will meet live on Zoom two time midway to check in. Our live sessions will be recorded and included on our accessible platform, which we will show you how to use.

When you sign up for this course, you will gain lifetime access to the entire recorded course, including all meditations, exercises, practices, and lectures which you can access any time, anywhere.

Our opening and closing evening sessions will focus on one meditation or mindfulness practice that supports emotional and physical well-being. We’ll look at inner workings of the plethora of challenging emotions, or “inner weather patterns.” The course includes the history and psychology of meditation, mindfulness, science of flow, EEG | MRI studies, long-term trait changes, neurofeedback, science of breath, foundational, ethical, and awareness practices from a wide variety of contemplative traditions.

The JOY MAP Facebook group will support your journey, as will the donation-based meditation classes taught by Jennifer Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:15am. If you are unable to attend at that time, at least one meditation per week will be posted on the JOY MAP page.

Students will leave with a deeper meditation and mindfulness practice and effective skills for living. Teachers will come away with an array of practices to support their students.

This course is open to anyone. It is eligible for 15 elective hours toward the JOY of Yoga 300 Hour Teacher Training. It is also eligible for 15 CEUs (continuing education units); hours will be broken down on the certificate of completion, available after the last day of training – please contact aurelia@breathetogetheryoga.com.
