The May meeting of Handstand Club with @lesliegerm

The May meeting of Handstand Club with @lesliegermainyoga happens this Saturday, May 11 from 12:30-2pm. This is great for people who have been attempting to get into a handstand and forearm stand, but are having difficulty. Leslie's workshop is known for offering drills and skills that you can do daily to help you get into these poses.

We will practice balancing on our hands with support of the wall, falling fearlessly as we move away from the wall, brain mapping and nervous system reflexes, core and shoulder strengthening exercises, flexibility of wrists and hamstrings, and connecting it all together to one day jump (or float!) into handstand. Leslie takes the best of the best drills, skills, and tips to get you into handstand poses safely and confidently.

BTY teachers have so much to share. If you've practiced here, you've probably experienced what a gift each class is. Teachers pour so much of their heart into preparing their session. And the work they do to deliver a workshop is incredible!

Izumi Sato (@yoga_with_izumi) and Kirti Saran (@kirtisaranyoga) shared a unique part of their yoga experience: Indian Classical Dance. Their presentation of Bharatanatyam went into the history of Indian classical dance, had students practicing eye movement and hand gestures, shared the story of the Ramayana and then learned hand movements and dance steps for the last two lines of Hanuman Chalisa.

Our Summer Challenge begins in less than a month!

Our Summer Challenge begins in less than a month! The Challenge is designed to give you a chance to practice and try out all the different styles of yoga we offer. Complete a game board by taking a combination of 84 classes in 84 days (you can take more than 1 class per day!). Challenge participants get access to Mysore classes.

BTY Members can join at no charge. If you're not a member, but want to participate and plan to take at least 2 classes/week, the price of the Challenge ($529 for 84 days of unlimited yoga) is more cost effective than a 10-class pack. Here's the price per class breakdown if you practice:

▪️daily: $6.30/class
▪️5x/week: $8.82/class
▪️4x/week: $11.02/class
▪️3x/week $14.69/class
▪️2x/week: $22.04/class (less expensive than a 10 class pack)

Those who complete the board are eligible to be part of a raffle drawing for prizes, where the grand prize is an Unlimited Membership for an entire year! Come to play or just sign up for 84 days of unlimited yoga.
