Early bird pricing ends today for Jayson Hemp's (@purpleyogageek) Yoga 2.0 workshop on Sunday, May 19. If you've ever wondered about how to do a pose "right," how to improve a transition from pose to pose, or similar questions about your practice, this workshop is for you.

Jayson has crafted a workshop that spends focused time on certain poses, breaks down their key components, and explores how to get more out of them! You'll:
*Review common poses & transitions (ie, Sun Salutation A/B), plus your favorite poses or sequences
*Observe how you move and explore how it feels in your body
*Learn, briefly, about body mechanics, the musculoskeletal system, and how it is relevant to movement
*Challenge assumptions or perceived limitations, and dispel some common yoga myths & taboos
*Employ modifications, tips, and techniques as appropriate

This not about achieving perfect alignment, but more about whether one is getting any benefit out of a particular pose or sequence, and if not, explore what can be done to get the most out of your practice.

@lesliehowardyoga, yoga teacher and pelvic floor expert, returns to help all yoga practitioners learn about their glute muscles, which are important to pelvic floor health. If you hadn't realized it, there are 6 muscles in your butt (3 on the left, 3 on the right). How these work in yoga poses can affect change in the hip socket, where the sacrum sits, how the legs work and how you experience the pose.

Join Leslie on Sunday, June 2 from 1-3;30pm to get a deeper understanding of the anatomy used in standing poses and hip opening poses. As a result, you will experience familiar poses in an unfamiliar way.

This is offered in-studio & online. Plus a recording will be made available for 10 days to all registrants. This also qualifies for Yoga Alliance CEUs.

A few spots remain for this summer's retreat to Sri Lanka with @jennprugh from August 10-22!

Sri Lanka is a treasure trove of culture, aromatics, nature, Buddhism, historical wonder and more. On this retreat, we'll explore Sigiriya Rock Fortress, visit the ancient monastery at Ritigalato, trek Little Adams Peak, Nine Arches Bridge and spend time at the Dambulla Cave Temple and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic—all with locals to help us navigate the terrain and language.

We'll sample Colombo’s food stalls and markets, embark on a spice exploration to satisfy even the most curious palate, and cook Sri Lankan dishes with a local. We'll also relax by the beach and safari through a nature reserve. You’ll let the dust settle after each day of adventure with yoga sessions amongst new friends.

The May meeting of Handstand Club with @lesliegerm

The May meeting of Handstand Club with @lesliegermainyoga happens this Saturday, May 11 from 12:30-2pm. This is great for people who have been attempting to get into a handstand and forearm stand, but are having difficulty. Leslie's workshop is known for offering drills and skills that you can do daily to help you get into these poses.

We will practice balancing on our hands with support of the wall, falling fearlessly as we move away from the wall, brain mapping and nervous system reflexes, core and shoulder strengthening exercises, flexibility of wrists and hamstrings, and connecting it all together to one day jump (or float!) into handstand. Leslie takes the best of the best drills, skills, and tips to get you into handstand poses safely and confidently.
